What the Band Says

I play with the Lilac City Community Band (LCCB) to continue my relationship with music and practicing my trumpet in an environment that is reminiscentย of the band rooms of my school-age years, so that I can continue to exist in an ensemble well after my high school and college musician days are over. Just to be a member of a group of like-minded music lovers is a huge boost to my mental health after the rigors of a busy week, and being able to perform live music (a slowly, but surely dwindling artform) is among the greatest joys one can experience in my opinion.

Tristan dodson, Trumpet

I appreciate the warm welcome to a range of amateur musicians who wish to discover or re-discover their band selves!

The music and friendships made feed my soul…
